Ada's Little Gems Preschool Dance PrograM

Ada’s Little Gems is an imaginative program aiming to build confidence and introduce children to the world of dance through combining the fundamentals of Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, AcroDance, Mime and Movement in a fun, creative way. For 2-5yr olds, the program has been specifically created to fuel a child's inspiration, imagination, curiosity, cooperation and musical skills, encouraging a love of dance and music.

Acro (Acrobatics)

Acro (Acrobatics) is a combination of balance, agility, strength, both fine & gross motor skills. This style is often incorporated in jazz, lyrical and contemporary dance routines, enhancing the performance.

Ballet

Ballet is a classical dance form demanding grace and precision and using formalized steps and gestures set in intricate, flowing patterns to create expression through movement. Ballet builds strength and discipline in both mind and body and is considered the foundation of most dance styles.

Contemporary/ Lyrical

Contemporary/Lyrical is a compilation of different styles of dance, including lyrical, classical ballet, jazz and modern dance. It can be very emotive lending itself to being used to portray stories told in the art form of contemporary dance.

DANCESTEP

DanceStep is a 6 level Student Teacher Education Program, builds on this philosophy and provides a progressive and formalised process including both practical and theoretical components.

Drama Class

Drama Class teaches acting, stagecraft, improvisation, theatre sports, vocal projection, how to read a script, portray a character, take stage direction and so much more!

Exams

Exams students can participate in exams via a private lesson or a specified exam class. Exams undertaken in Ballet & Jazz through State Dance Association, Tap through Glenn Wood Tap, Acrobatics through Acrobatic Dance Association and Singing & Drama through Australian Guild Of Music Education.

hip hop

Hip Hop is known to be a US pop culture movement originating in the 1980s comprising of rap music, graffiti and break dancing and soon evolved into urban body expression including locking, popping, waving which is always evolving.

Jazz

Jazz is a popular dance form incorporating the movement of body to popular music. It includes jumps, turns, kicks, leaps and intricate isolations which form jazz technique.

Musical Theatre

Musical Theatre is a form of theatrical performance that combines songs, spoken dialogue, acting, and dance. The story and emotional content is communicated through words, music and movement.

Private Lessons

Private Lessons are lessons with a teacher one on one, with any genre, can be used for exam work, technique or performance based.

Singing

Singing is the act of producing musical sounds with the voice by incorporating speech and the use of tones and vocal techniques. Singing is a popular form of both expression and entertainment.

Special Needs Jazz

Special Needs Jazz is a class especially formulated to welcome all children and young people with Special Needs, whether intellectual or physical. This class has a minimum of two teachers (more if required) to ensure each student receives the necessary attention to ensure their experience is fulfilling. The combination of dance movement with music encourages independence and build confidence in their achievements.

TAP DANCE

Tap Dance is characterised by using the sounds of tap shoes striking the floor as a form of percussion. The sound is made by shoes that have a metal “tap” on the heel and toe. Although it can be challenging, tap is a fun way to make one’s own music.
